A geometric background with a stylized iris motif, the Fleur-de-lis T Shade is a composite reproduction of Tiffany shades as pictured in "The Lamps of Tiffany" by Dr. Egon Neustadt. The iris motif along the bottom border appears centred between stems supporting three-fold leaves touching the top aperture. The flowers in the original lamp were yellow and orange; the background a dark green fading to pale, almost white, near the bottom.
Antique Tiffany
style lamps were constructed of dense opalescent stained glass which
masks the light source and shows colour by reflected light when the
light is turned on. |
